After beating a class field two weeks ago, Windswept has stepped up in weight and distance but again proved too strong for an excellent line-up at Belmont on Saturday over 1400m.

Sent out an even money favourite based on his last devastating performance, Gerald (his stable name) slipped slightly at the start in the wet conditions.  He then had to be bussled to get outside the leaders where he did all the work into a strong headwind.  Coming down the straight he was a sitting shot for some high class gallopers, but beat them all off in the run to the line.

The cheers from the GR owners could again be heard across Belmont!
