Bourne Supremacy (Jason) turned in an incredible performance to win at Belmont yesterday over 1000m. After drawing the widest barrier, the Snitzel gelding (from the great WA mare Covertly) was caught 4 and 5 wide the entire trip. Turning for home he had every reason to tire, however, he came home strongly out wide and won with 3/4 of a length to spare from a nice field of sprinters.
Since his purchase from interstate, Bourne Supremacy has delivered 3 wins and a 2nd from only 6 starts. He has a large group of owners, some of whom are first-timers and they were in full voice yesterday! Many of them also took the opportunity to lead him back to scale!
